Visiting a Homeopath

Visiting a Homeopath

A homeopath always seeks to treat the person and their experience of their disease.  As such it is a treatment aimed at each individual rather then at named diseases.  However many people who come for a consultation do so with a diagnosis from their doctor.   Some of these are listed below.

General

Allergies
Anaemia
Arthritis
Asthma
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia
Digestive disturbances – indigestion, irritable bowel syndrome, reflux, piles, constipation, diarrhoea
Hay fever
Headaches/Migraine
High blood pressure
Post-operative recovery
Recurrent infections – cystitis, coughs and colds, tonsillitis, sinusitis
Skin disorders – acne, eczema, herpes, molluscum, psoriasis, warts/veruccas
Sleep disturbances – insomnia, night terrors, bed wetting, night sweats
Sprains, strains, sports injuries
Vertigo

Mental and emotional changes such as anxiety, depression and grief.

Women

Candida/thrush
Menstrual  problems – PMT, absent, irregular, painful or heavy periods
Menopausal symptoms – mood changes, hot flushes, vaginal dryness
Uterine fibroids
Ovarian cysts

Pregnancy and Childbirth

Homeopathy is safe for use during pregnancy and childbirth, also for babies.   Symptoms such as morning sickness may respond very well to homeopathic treatment and I will be able to suggest remedies to use during and after labour.  There are also remedies which may help with breast feeding difficulties as well as mastitis.  Colic and teething in babies may also respond to homeopathic remedies.

Children

Many of the complaints listed under the general heading will apply to children, in particular allergies, eczema, asthma and recurrent infections.  Homeopathy may be able to help break the cycle of infections and so avoid repeated use of antibiotics.

Behavioural and learning difficulties in children may also respond to homeopathy.  I have a particular interest in working with children who are experiencing developmental delay, and also those on the autistic spectrum.  I have been a registered CEASE therapist since 2012.

Children often get acute, self limiting illnesses, such as colds, coughs, sore throats, diarrhoea etc.  There is some evidence to suggest that homeopathy is effective in these situations and you may find that with my support,  you are able to prescribe for your child with a home kit of remedies.

Research

In 2005 the largest service evaluation of homeopathic treatment reported that 70% of 6,500 follow-up patients experienced improvement in their health – eczema, asthma, migraine, irritable bowel syndrome, arthritis, depression and chronic fatigue syndrome – chronic problems suffered by many people – all improved.
